- "I went through the healing and recovery to make sure that nothing from my past choice of abortion was lingering.  I knew that God was leading me into ministry to encourage others as they seek healing and restoration from their own pain and loss.  I thought because God had placed this ministry on my heart that I was surely completely freed from any past pain.  What I learned was that I had buried much anger and self condemnation for over 26 years.  I had been unaware for most of my life of how denying my grief had affected me, my marriage, my family, and my relationship with my God. I began to recognize that I had not forgiven myself and others.  I realized that I had not accepted the forgiveness that God freely offers.  In Isaiah 40:3-5, we learn that in order to make way for the Lord in the desert places, we have to remove obstacles.   That's what I had to do - release my pain and unforgivenss so Jesus could come in and do His healing work in my life.
